The centerpiece of the Royal BC Museum’s feature exhibition “Family: Bonds & Belonging” celebrating Canada’s 150th anniversary.
What is a family? Can you pick your family or is it determined by blood? Is family who you share holidays with? Or who you share your daily routines with, like getting coffee together or hitting the gym? Produced and edited by Dan Evans for North Shore Productions and the Royal BC Museum, Family: Bonds & Belonging explores these questions and helps visitors discover some surprising answers.
Inside the exhibition at the Royal BC Museum:
The centerpiece of this interactive exhibit is the Home Movie Theatre, designed to look like a family rec room from the 1970s, which displays a feature film synchronized across three screens. Supporting films in the series are displayed in ambient locations throughout the exhibit.
